Leader vs Manager

Maybe we need to look at this in a different angle.
A "manager", "director”, "CEO", is all defined as positions. Wherever you are in the corporate ladder, or a business owner, there are always a superior over you. They either tell you what they want or they seek your support or vision.

All these positions mentioned above are in the leadership capacity. Thus, a manger, CEO, CFO, Director, Team Fist Head, Principal are all leaders. They all have followers (employees, vendors/clients/etc)

There are active leaders and passive ones. The active leaders understand that good leadership are not born, they are made. Good quality leadership can be learned to be excellent. They inspire, motivate, they initiate, they encouraged, they tell their story to get more consensus, they get people involved, they know how to get things done, they are ahead of the game and more.

The passive leaders do what they are told and simply take orders and carry it down the food chain.
You can decide who you want to be.
